There are some important words (mostly Latin origin) which are often used in an abbreviated form in written English:
e.g. – For example (exempli gratia).
etc. – and so on (et cetera).
i.e. – that is (id est).
v. or vs. – against (versus).
BC – Before Christ.
AD – After Christ (Anno Domini) – ჩვენი წელთაღრიცხვით
UK – United Kingdom – გაერთიანებული სამეფო
